How Much Should I Consume?

Responsible dosing is the foundation of a positive cannabis experience. GreenDrop provides the information you need to find your ideal dose, whether you are a first-time explorer or a seasoned enthusiast.

The Universal Principle

"Start low, go slow" is the most important guidance in cannabis consumption. You can always increase your dose, but you cannot decrease it once consumed. Begin with less than you think you need, wait for the full effects to manifest, and adjust upward only if desired. This approach maximizes positive experiences and minimizes discomfort.

Flower Dosing

A single inhalation from a joint, pipe, or vaporizer is a reasonable starting point for new consumers. Effects are felt within minutes, making it relatively easy to gauge your response and decide whether to continue. Experienced consumers typically know their comfortable range, but caution is still warranted when trying a new strain with different potency.

Edible Dosing

  • New to edibles: 2.5 to 5 mg THC
  • Some experience: 5 to 15 mg THC
  • Regular consumer: 15 to 30 mg THC
  • High tolerance: 30 mg+ THC

Remember: edibles take 30 minutes to two hours to take effect. Do not redose during this window. The most common edible mistake is impatience — consuming more before the first dose has fully activated.

Concentrate Dosing

Concentrates are significantly more potent than flower. A dose roughly the size of a grain of rice is a standard starting point. New concentrate users should proceed with extra caution, as the intensity can be surprising even for experienced flower consumers.

Vape Cartridge Dosing

A single short draw from a vape cartridge is a manageable starting dose. Vapes deliver effects quickly — within minutes — allowing for easy self-titration. Take one draw, wait five to ten minutes, and decide if you want more.

Factors That Affect Your Response

Body weight, metabolism, food intake, hydration, sleep quality, and your mental state all influence how cannabis affects you. The same dose can feel different on different days depending on these variables. This is normal — be attuned to your body and adjust accordingly.
